When driving on any road, you are in risk of having strange elements hitting your car and probably harming it in a very bad way.
A rock chip occurs when an object impacts the windows, headlights, or windshields of a vehicle, nicking the glass and causing a damaged spot. This will happen when tires of other cars flying debris behind them, and sometimes small rocks can fall off of dump trucks or other fleet vehicles. It also can occur due to the velocity the vehicle reaches on the road, making any object, no matter how small, a menace to your windshield, windows or any others.
A chip can be a small spot that is barely noticeable, but you can know when it occurs because of the loud sound of the impact. Even though the damage may seem pretty minor, it always important to repair the chip as soon as possible. If dirt gets embedded into the area of the chip, the repair will be less effective or even impossible.
